Student Life

Enjoy a delicious meal

TEP’s in-house kitchen team of 7 professional chefs serves healthy, creative, and appealing meals for all TEP students.  Tasty, varied, and nutritious food supports healthy eating habits and exposes students to different cuisines and cultures.  Middle School students can enjoy their meals with friends in the café or outdoor terrace, while Early Childhood and Elementary students get fresh meals delivered to their classrooms each day.

Connect with friends

Students participate in advisory, choice time, or recess every day. These breaks from classroom learning promote social and emotional engagement and foster connections amongst peers. Students play games on the field or in the gym, talk with their friends on the outdoor terrace, or hold conversations on relevant topics in small advisory groups.

Join a Team or Club

Try out for a spot on one of TEP’s Athletics teams or Special Artistic groups. Competitive sports teams include basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball, softball, table tennis, and more. Students can audition for the Honors Choir, the Lab Band, the Dance team, or the TEP Combos. TEP also has extra-curricular clubs open to any students; these fun clubs help build a sense of community and include sports, visual art, chess, film, photography, and more.

Gather in Community

TEP is committed to helping our students develop strong character and work ethic and to work together to build a strong community.  Throughout the school year, TEP students gather to celebrate each other at honor roll assemblies, to learn from community members working in different jobs, and to practice the CUB and TIGER values.

See our community in action!

  • Performances

Whether it’s a performance with world class celebrities or an informal show of kindergarteners singing and dancing, each concert is special and unique.  Explore our award winning and innovative music program here!

  • Field Trips

TEP students explore New York City with trips to museums, parks, farms, planetariums, zoos, botanical gardens, libraries, and live performance venues.  During the pandemic, virtual field trips have been a creative way for students to stay connected and explore their community.

  • TEP Cares

Each year students participate in a full day of community service called TEP Cares. Activities include singing at nursing homes, planting sidewalk gardens, supporting at a food pantry, and beautifying local parks. This year students made artwork to recognize our essential worker heroes!
